There are five main costs associated with funerals. The needs of every family do vary, for your convenience our fees are pre-determined to enable a fixed price.
Funeral Planning and Administration
This fee covers the cost of our carefully chosen and trained staff to provide a dignified and quality service to you. From the first contact with your professional funeral consultant dedicated to you and who has access to the total resources of our expert team, respecting and following your directions, providing you with up to date options in order for you to make informed decisions and thus creating a carefully prepared meaningful funeral. Your consultant deals with the placement of news paper notices, dealing with all legal requirements relative to Births, Deaths and Marriages including obtaining the death certificate, liaison and co-ordination of all people involved, provision for at least three staff on the day of the service to take care of your family and your guests and the use of a hearse if required. No additional fee is charged for you to meet with a consultant, after hours or weekends.
transfer and Mortuary
This fee covers the transfer from a hospital, nursing home, or private residence. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and consists of experienced professionals. We use state-of-the-art equipment to ensure gentle treatment.
The next stage involves the preparation and care of your loved one in readiness for a viewing, if you wish, and for the funeral service. Every consideration is given to preserving the dignity of the deceased while they are in our care. Our experienced and qualified embalmer, a member of both the Australian Institute of Embalming and the British Institute of Embalmers, manages this process.
Chapel
Using a Harrison’s chapel means that our entire facility is dedicated to you and your guests. We only host one funeral service at a time, ensuring an unhurried atmosphere. You can choose between a morning, afternoon, or twilight service, allowing ample time to meet with your guests.
Our chapels are unique with an open and relaxed atmosphere. The Queenstown chapel has seating for 145 and standing room for many more. The Heritage Ridgehaven chapel accommodates 100 seated guests, with additional standing room. The Rivergum chapel, the largest funeral chapel in Adelaide, offers seating for 400 and extensive standing room.
This fee also covers a light morning or afternoon tea in our adjoining lounges, consisting of unlimited coffee, tea, and sparkling water, along with quiches, biscuits, and an assortment of desserts suitable for 60-70 people. Additional catering and beverages can be organised; please speak to your Funeral Consultant for more information.
Coffin or Casket
The choice of coffin or casket is a very personal one, display rooms are at both facilities alternatively ipads with visual albums display all 45 styles available, custom colours and hand painting are also an option.
Disbursements
These are fees charged by service providers that we pay on your behalf, which is then shown on your funeral account.
These services include:
An estimate of the funeral disbursements will be given to you at the time of the arrangement after all of your decisions are made. This estimate will be a comprehensive breakdown of the costs. Generally the only estimate is that of the newspaper notices.
